New: ACEC Fall 2017 Scholarship Information

ACEC California – San Joaquin Valley Chapter will be awarding scholarships to 2 individuals in an engineering or land surveying curriculum at California State University, Fresno or University of California, Merced for the Fall 2017 semester. The scholarship award amount will be $750-$1,000 for each award.

Maryland Sea Grant Summer REU Program

We bring upper-level undergraduate students to the Chesapeake Bay to conduct individual research projects with a scientist-mentor at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science. We select undergrads in many disciplines, including engineering, biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, ecology and marine and environmental science.
 
We are accepting applications through February 15.

Harvard-Amgen Scholars

The Harvard-Amgen Scholars Program is a ten-week faculty mentored residential summer research program for undergraduates in biotechnology. Through this program, a diverse cohort of rising undergraduate juniors and seniors will have the opportunity to work in laboratories of faculty across the Harvard campus. In addition to an engaging, formative research experience, Harvard-Amgen Scholars will live among over 300 undergraduates residents of the Harvard Summer Undergraduate Research Village community in one of the historic Houses along the Charles River. Rentec Direct's Tech Mastery Scholarship

Overview

Here at Rentec Direct, we recognize that the investment in knowledge pays the best dividends for the future. To further support the goals and dreams of future technology influencers, Rentec Direct developed a scholarship fund for students pursuing a career in Computer Science.

About the scholarship

Rentec Direct wants to help you to complete your education that will transform your dreams into reality. Rentec Direct will offer up to four $500.00 scholarships per year to outstanding college students pursuing an education in Computer Science, software development or other closely related fields of study.

Eligibility

Applicants must be enrolled, or intend to be enrolled, full-time in a computer science degree program, or related field, at an accredited US college or university.  To be considered, applicants must be in good-standing and should have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.  

High school seniors planning to attend an accredited university for Computer Science the following term are encouraged to apply.  

Only one application is allowed per student per calendar year. Submission deadlines are October 21st (fall) and April 15th (spring). Scholarships will be awarded on June 1st (spring) and December 1st (fall).

Application process

Applicants should submit an essay not to exceed 1000 words explaining, in their view, how technology evolved to make an everlasting impact for internet based organizations in the last 5 years. Your essay will be judged on the level of creativity, humor (we love to laugh), and content.

You should submit a brief cover letter explaining why you are pursuing the degree you have chosen and how it will benefit you in your future.

Responsibilities include development of novel electro-mechanical devices to produce gourmet food, controls designs of actuates systems, quick prototyping/learning cycles, testing, analysis, simulation to learn how systems behave, collaborating with peers and vendors to execute design, and going from sketches to product launch.

Summer opportunity (May-August), paid internship with wage commesurate with experience, opportunity to receive academic independent research credit through UC Berkeley (position based in Berkeley, CA - schedule and remote work is negotiable), and enjoy tasty breakfast sandwiches and craft coffee.

CRM Administrator & Applications Programmer (Contract)

The Customer Relations Management (CRM) Administrator & Applications Programmer, at UC Merced, will build tools that will support prospects, applicants, faculty, undergraduate students, summer session, and extension programs on and off campus. The Administrator will help with implementation and training for all Enrollment Management departments. Incumbent will organize, manage, & prioritize responsibilities in a self-directed, team-oriented environment.

The CRM Administrator & Applications Programmer will be responsible for oversight, maintenance, and administration of CRM to various departments on campus. This includes helping with workflow issues, training staff, managing roles for staff in the CRM, data management, app development and/or application implementations. The initial planning and implementation of the CRM to each department will be a major responsibility of the Administrator & Applications Programmer. Writes reports from the data warehouse using tools such as Cognos to enable staff to make data informed decisions within Enrollment Management.

Applies professional programming concepts for small to medium-sized projects or portions of larger projects. Resolves a variety of programming design and implementation issues. Works on programming assignments of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Evaluates software for purchase and integration with SIS and CRM systems in the Division of Enrollment Management (DEM). Development responsibilities for all software utilized within DEM. Prepares documentation and updates documentation.
